For the third consecutive year, the Award-giving Ceremony of The World Competition for Children’s Drawings took place in the “City of the Artists” – Kazanlak. This year’s event was held on November 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the NUPID “Acad. Dechko Uzunov.” Nearly thirty of the winners, along with their families and teachers, attended the ceremony. In addition to the winners from Bulgaria, we were pleased to host guests from Thailand, Serbia, Greece and Italy.

This year, Preslav Petrov, a 16-year-old artist, was awarded the “Pepa Boyanova” Special Award for his painting titled “Mirage.” The award was presented by Nikolay Yanakiev, an esteemed Bulgarian artist and a new member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Aayan Asan, a 10-year-old from Bangladesh, received The “Little Zograff Foundation” Special Award for his painting “Krishna.” Although Aayan could not attend in person, he and his teacher provided a special video message for the Foundation team and all the guests in attendance. In the video, Aayan excitedly expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the recognition.

This year’s Teacher Award was presented to Katarina Pavlović and Marta Djorić, the director and a teacher of Atelier “Artino” in Belgrade. Their students received the following awards: Gold Prize – Masa Pavković; Silver Prize – Lena Pavković; and an Honorable Mention – Nina Grehorić.

The award for outstanding contribution to the education and upbringing of the children was given to Dr. Mariyana Filipova, the teacher and founder of the STEALM Academy. Due to prior commitments, Mariyana was unable to attend the ceremony in person; however, she prepared a special video message for all the event’s guests. The award was presented to her a few days later in Sofia by Ivana Kostadinova.

During the 2024 Awards Ceremony, Ivan Ivanov, co-founder (along with Pepa Boyanova) and current manager, announced two significant updates for the Foundation team. First, the team is expanding, and the Foundation’s Board of Directors has welcomed three new members: the exceptional Bulgarian artist Nikolay Yanakiev, Katya Hristova—an artist and curator at the Art Gallery in Kazanlak, and Mirela Spirova, an interior designer. Additionally, Ivan Ivanov announced that the Foundation has a new manager, Ivana Kostadinova. Ivana is an industrial designer and has been a member of the Board of Directors for over three years.
